The faith and pilgrimage of Fatima tell the story that “a lady more brilliant than the Sun” appeared to three children, the locality developed a lot from the event of the Apparitions, at the beginning of the century. XX, becoming one of the greatest centers of the Marian cult in Portugal, recognized worldwide by the Catholic Church. Every day 13, from May to October, the Shrine of Fatima receives thousands of pilgrims and tourists to celebrate the dates of the apparitions. We continue our tour to Nazaré, the most typical village and beach in Portugal, with its traditions and fishing gear, also known for the giant wave of Garret McNamara, which in November 2011 surfed on the North beach in Nazaré, a wave with 23.77 meters. You can have some delicious barbecued sardines and then we go to the medieval village of Óbidos, one of the most picturesque and well preserved in Portugal. Inside the walls, we find a castle and a labyrinth of streets and white houses that enchant. Between Manueline porticos, flowery windows and small stairs, you have to stop to drink a Ginjinha (regional liquor) in a glass of chocolate.
